My low vision is created the combination of four elements that together produce how I see.  A medical evaluation and assessment by social services is needed to determine how each person with low vision sees, and how best to help them.

Color Blindness - Tritanopia

Two images of flowers. On the left as they would be seen by a person with average full vision. On the right how they would be seen by a person with Tritanopia.

Dimming

Two images. The image on the left shows a well lit hallway in a mall with tables and chairs on the left and right of the walkway. The image on the right shows the same view, only much dimmer.

Dots (Floaters)

A zoomed section from the image below showing a hallway in a mall that is dimmed and has dots or floaters.

Expanded view of dots

Image on the left is a well lit mall walkway, on the right is the same view dimmed and with dots or floaters from low vision.

Donuts (Acute Central Ring Scatoma)

Image on the left of a mall walkway, on the right the same image showing the "donut" shaped central ring scatoma covering the middle third of the vision.

Combine to form my low vision

Image on the left shows a mall walkway, on the right is the same image with the combined tritanopia, dim, dots, and donut caused by low vision.
